History

In recent years, the world has been evolving towards practicality. Even before the pandemic began, designers, fashion designers, and artists started creating products that were not only visually appealing but also practical. The era of minimalism and comfort is the current direction of human development.

But restrained doesn’t mean boring. Riding the wave of simplicity, designers began offering new and unusual solutions for organizing space. Thus, the trend of invisible doors emerged, which are increasingly used in modern designs.

Invisible doors, or concealed installation doors, are doors that, due to their technical characteristics, blend seamlessly with the wall and create a sense of monolithicity. They merge with the space and literally become invisible to the eye. These doors are made from anodized aluminum and do not have visible hinges or seams. The only thing that stands out against the wall is the gap of the door leaf and the rectangular profile that surrounds it.

The doors are installed in the apartment before finishing works – plastering, painting, and so on. They can be made custom or ready to be finished on-site. A special baseboard is offered for concealed doors. Doors can be either concealed or surface-mounted. The hidden baseboard can be illuminated, providing another option for creating a light accent in the room.

However, invisible doors are not a solution to all problems. They can be played with in terms of texture and design, but they are still doors. It is impossible to completely dissolve them into the interior.

The main advantage of concealed doors, emphasized in various articles and selections, is their blending with wallpaper or plaster on the wall. However, classic doors can provide a similar effect. It all depends on the tasks and the material the doors are made of.

The only real difference between these two types of doors is that with concealed doors, the mounting box is built into the wall itself. In every other aspect, both classic and “invisible” doors are similar.

What are the advantages of concealed doors:

  • Integration into the space. The doors seamlessly blend into the interior, without visible seams or hinges.
  • Style. Concealed doors can be designed to suit any taste. They can be painted, plastered, fitted with mirrors, or other decorative elements. This is not possible with classic doors. Invisible doors often use glass, stone, or tiles for their design.

We are against discriminating against the old. Classic doors can also integrate into the overall design and become part of the wall design concept. They can replicate the texture of cabinets, MDF panels, and other elements. Concealed doors do not have any clear advantages over classic doors. They are simply a new element in design. And we love to focus on things our eyes are not yet accustomed to.
