Mountain Family Retreat
General concept
Mountain Family Retreat is a conceptual design of a contemporary holiday home, where ethnic minimalism meets the depth of Ukrainian cultural heritage. This project aims to blend architectural restraint with the emotional richness of tradition.
The interior features natural materials, deep wood tones, and tactile textures. Subtle lighting elements, inspired by traditional Ukrainian embroidery, add an authentic and sophisticated touch. The space is designed as a sanctuary for silence, connection, and meaningful family time — a visual expression of comfort where modernity intertwines with cultural roots.
Main area
The heart of the retreat — a space designed for gathering, slow living, and intimate conversations. The central zone includes a spacious lounge with a modular sofa, a generous dining area, and an open kitchen discreetly integrated behind wood-paneled facades.
The restrained decor follows an elegant minimalism — warm natural light, rich wood surfaces, and ornamental geometry inspired by traditional motifs. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with light, while soft textures and clean volumes evoke calm and protection.
Guest bathroom
The guest bathroom exudes refined simplicity and ambiance. Textured tiles mimicking natural stone, dark wood, and illuminated decorative panels create a play of light and shadow.
A sculptural basin and vertical lighting composition elevate the space into an art object. Subdued lighting invites calm and privacy, where functionality becomes an aesthetic feature.
Bedroom
The bedroom is designed as a tranquil retreat for rest and renewal. Its focal point — a wooden wall panel with a custom motif inspired by Ukrainian embroidery — lends depth and identity.
Soft lighting, natural textures, and pared-down forms create a serene atmosphere, free of visual noise. A cozy reading corner by the window offers a peaceful moment with nature.
Master bathroom
The master bathroom unites minimalism with refined practicality. Stone-effect tiles create a clean and expansive feel, while frosted glass partitions divide the space into bath, shower, and toilet zones — offering privacy without sacrificing light.
The centerpiece is a bespoke illuminated vanity set against a dark wood wall with traditional carvings, adding cultural character and visual depth to the calm and composed interior.
