Mountain Trees Interior 2
Bungalow in the Carpathians: a contemporary take on Ukrainian authenticity
This project isn’t just about architecture — it’s about emotion. About the quiet connection to roots, to nature, to a silence that speaks louder than words.
Meaning woven into ornament
Our aim was to merge contemporary minimalism with subtle echoes of Ukrainian authenticity. Not literally, not decoratively — but as a sensory undercurrent expressed through textures, forms, and muted tones. As if the past gently touches the present, guiding it forward into the future.
We deeply studied Ukrainian ornamental language — not to replicate it, but to reinterpret it. To breathe new life into it. To weave it into the space in a way that feels intuitive, not overt — provoking reflection rather than giving answers. This interior doesn’t shout — it whispers. It invites you to listen closely, to read between the lines. It’s not just design — it’s a story waiting to unfold.
Interior
The interior of the bungalow is understated yet textured — composed with intention and clarity. Silence, the warmth of wood, and the gentle breath of natural materials like straw and wool define the mood.
Every object carries its own presence. Bedside tables crafted like ancient tree stumps. A handwoven bed frame, raw and honest. Hand-knotted rugs. And chairs — a collaboration between Kyiv-based studio KINT and traditional Hutsul craftspeople from GUSHKA in Kosiv. Everything here is made in Ukraine — a tribute to local artisanship and soul.
Spatial layout
The bungalow features two bedrooms — each with its own private en-suite bathroom and outdoor shower. The first bedroom includes a freestanding bathtub, a walk-in shower, and a direct connection to a secluded open-air shower beneath the sky.
Where aesthetics meet meaning
Panoramic windows don’t just let the light in — they open the interior to the world. Nature becomes part of the living space. You don’t just stay beside the forest — you become part of it.
Types of bungalows & site design
The complex includes two types of bungalows, each carefully integrated into the natural landscape, respecting the terrain and preserving existing trees. Organic silhouettes, energy-efficient technologies, and natural materials reflect a deep sensitivity to the environment.
This is more than a retreat — it’s a space to reconnect. To breathe deeply. To slow down. To live in awareness.
Here, you can be fully alone — or share a meaningful moment with someone close. This is a project that combines privacy and comfort with the philosophy of slow living and long-term investment value. Designed for those who seek not just rest — but conscious presence.
